It doesn't seem to be a qualitative argument to use numbers like that. I use identi.ca because it connects me with people of the same interests, not to market my self like a whore. It simply does not exist. I use identi.ca, and it posts to twitter. I also receive from twitter and identica in the same window - and so I misunderstand why people say 'one or the other'. Twitter is closed, and more popular, but identi.ca is robust, more reliable, and simply an ALTERNATIVE and a CHOICE. Should everyone be forced to quit using Linux and Mac because Windows is the default? I used to think that Microsoft's 'evangelistic antitrust' behavior was unethical, but actually, it simply reflects the self destructive nature of the people who use the internet.
